A brand new sweet treat will soon be coming to Epsom.

Eight-year-old Molly Chartres has been crowned the winner of the Hatty’s sweet shop competition to design an original new sweet for the borough.

The youngster’s idea is now with manufacturers and will go into production shortly.  It will then be available to buy from Hatty’s in the Ashley Centre.

David Beddows, The Ashley Centre’s general manager, who was on the judging panel, says: "Congratulations to Molly and thank you to the 243 people who submitted some wonderful and exciting designs.

"Molly’s design was chosen because it included the official Epsom colours of yellow and green and the iconic Epsom image of a jockey hat."

Molly will receive one year’s worth of sweets, which she can collect as 100g from Hatty’s each week.
