A new project which is helping unemployed people find work has already helped six people find careers.
Wandsworth Workmatch, organised by Wandsworth Council, was launched on September 24 and aims to find jobs, apprenticeships and training roles for people in the borough.
Leader of the council, Councillor Ravi Govindia, officially launched the service at an event in the new Workmatch office, Lavender Hill, Battersea.
Employers such as Battersea Power Station, St James Group and Sainsbury's are using the service to fill vacancies.
The service is only available to people living in the area who are out of work.
Candidates who sign up are given help writing CVs, interview skills and given any required training.
Coun Govindia said: "Wandsworth is currently experiencing exceptional levels of new investment, especially in Nine Elms on the South Bank and Wandsworth Town where some enormous development projects are underway.
"The WorkMatch team provides a direct link between these new opportunities and borough residents who need them most."
Ben Cook, of Battersea, found a job with Ballymore through the service.
He said: "I was successful and now I’m working on the Embassy Gardens site in Nine Elms.
"It’s such a good feeling to be back in work and I’m learning a lot more about site engineering. It’s still early days but I’m feeling really positive.
