The council has said that it is closing 11 offices and moving the staff into Bernard Weatherill House.

Based upon previous experience, it would be too much to expect the termination of the leases on the old offices to have been planned to coincide with the move to the new offices, so that the council will not end up paying for both the new and old offices.

How long will we be paying rental on the old offices as well as the new, and have these additional costs been taken into account when the council discusses costs?

I note the change in tenor of the council's message; they are now talking about "long term" savings rather than merely savings.

I would therefore assume that short term costs will increase.
