The crash happened on Wellesley Road
A 27-year-old man was seriously hurt in a car crash in Wellesley Road this afternoon.
Firefighters cut the roof off the the man's car before he was rushed to St George's Hospital in Tooting with back injuries following the collision at around 3pm.
Tram services were disrupted and after the crash forced the suspension of the line between Reeves Corner and East Croydon, while motorists suffered congestion.
London Ambulance Service sent duty officer and one ambulance crew to the scene.
