South West Trains are reporting long delays and cancellations between Surbiton and Woking until later this evening after a person was hit by a train at West Byfleet.
Rail passengers are being told services could be cancelled, delayed by up to 40 minutes or diverted at short notice following the incident.
Emergency services are at West Byfleet station, but the condition of the person struck by the train is not yet known.
All routes between Surbiton and Woking are currently blocked, and disruption is expected until 8pm tonight.
Both Southern Trains and First Great Western Trains are accepting customers with South West Trains tickets via "any reasonable route".
