As a London Assembly member living near Crystal Palace, I am aware of the concerns being voiced by many local businesses and residents since the announcement of the planned redevelopment and rebuilding of Crystal Palace and the park.
I am also concerned that Boris Johnson – who will be chairing the Advisory Board on the development - has a dismal record on listening to residents on planning matters.
For example, he recently ignored many thousands of people objecting to the Beddington incinerator.
The park is a valuable community asset and any development must work not just for big business but for the local community.
I am keen to hear views from local residents on this issue – both those for and against – and would urge them to contact me on Fiona.Twycross@london.gov.uk.
