Elderly man hospitalised after car crash in South Croydon

An elderly man has been hospitalised after a car crash in South Croydon.
The man, in his 70s, was taken to St George’s Hospital suffering with chest pains after a crash on a roundabout in Waddon Way at the junction with Pampisford Road shortly after 10am, October 13.
Three women were also taken to hospital with minor injuries.
A London Ambulance spokesman said: “We sent three ambulance crews and a responder in a car to the scene.
“Staff treated four patients – one man and three women.
“The man, believed to be in his 70s, was suffering from chest pain and was treated and taken to St George’s.
“All three female patients had minor injuries.
“One was also taken to St George’s and the other two were taken to Croydon University Hospital.”
People travelling by bus through the area can expect delays as the 405 and 455 buses have been diverted via Warham Road via Denning Avenue, Purley Way and Purley Cross in both directions.
