Croydon paedophile 'acted out sexual fantasies' with two young girls, court hears
A paedophile trawled the internet for child pornography before "acting out his fantasies" with two young girls, a court heard today.
Father-of-two Peter Ross, 56, is said to have abused two girls, one aged either 12 or 13 and the other just nine or 10, at his home in Croydon.
Mr Ross, who is married, allegedly persuaded the older girl to sit on his lap while he rubbed her genitals, sometimes inserting his fingers.
The jury heard the abuse happened in 2005 and 2006 while the girl was visiting Ross's house, which he and his family moved out of she reported it to the police.
Prosecutor Tom Wilkins told Croydon Crown Court the family had abandoned their home in 2006 so quickly they left the doors open.
He said: "The defendant made the complainant play a game called 'It'. Whoever was 'It' would have to sit on his lap on a beige sofa in the living room."
The abuse would then take place, the jury heard.
The girl, now 20, initially reported the abuse, said to have happened repeatedly, but dropped her complaint as she did not think police believed her.
Detectives reopened the investigation when the second girl, now 18, lodged allegations against Mr Ross last year.
She claims he pulled her jeans and knickers down before touching her genitals.
When police arrested Mr Ross at his home in Beech Drive, Tadworth, in July 2012 they seized his computer and found it had been used "for years" to seek out indecent images of children.
He claimed someone else had used his computer to look for the pictures and suggested the two alleged victims were "on the make".
He told the court: "I'm not a sick pervert. This is nothing to do with me. I feel bullied for something I have not done. This is nothing to do with me and I think there is a monetary motive.
"I'm quite a religious person. This is anathema to my beliefs. For my own spiritual progression I have to be moral."
Asked why the girls had seen his penis, he told the court he had a problem with excessive sweating and would sleep naked.
But Mr Wilkins said: "I would suggest you are in deep denial and in fact you have a long-standing sexual interest in children which you indulged in fantasies on line and, as we have heard with these two girls, you sometimes put into practice."
Mr Ross denies four charges of sexual activity with a child and due to law changes is alternatively charged with four indecent assaults, that he also denies.
He also denies sexually assaulting the second girl and is alternatively charged with indecent assault in relation to the same allegations.
He has also pleaded not guilty to six counts of making indecent images on or before July 24 last year.
The trial continues.
