CCTV footage of a man convicted of killing a Croydon teenager has been released following his absconcion from a mental health centre.
An image of Lerone Michael Boye taken moments before he left the John Howard Centre in Homerton, Hackney, on Wednesday is being circulated to help find the 27-year-old.
Boye, of Beckton, was jailed for 28 years last December, after being found guilty of killing Kelvin Chibueze, 17, in Ilford on August 15, 2011.
The teenager who lived in Underwood, New Addington, was chased and stabbed after a fight broke out during a private party at the Arteflex Club in Illford.
Mr Chibueze, who had been heard to complain that he could not breath, collapsed in a car park just off Ilford High Street.
A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as a single stab wound to the heart.
The grainy new CCTV image shows Boye shortly before he absconded from the John Howard Centre at around 2pm on October 16.
He is wearing grey jogging bottoms and greyish blue sweatshirt with a grey vest over the top, although police accept he could have changed clothes by now.
Boye is a black man, approximately 5ft 10ins tall, of slim build and with short black hair.
He has a scar on his right cheek, a goatee beard and a gold tooth in his upper row of teeth.
The public are advised not to approach Boye but call 999 if seen.
Anyone with any information about Boye's whereabouts can also call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
