The winning photographs that will feature in a charity calendar were unveiled last week.

Fourteen images have been selected following the Croydon Culture Click competition led by Mayor of Croydon Councillor Yvette Hopley and Croydon Commitment.

Michael Farley was the overall winner of the competition for his image of Surrey Street Market which includes a stunning cloud formation.

His work will be hung in the community space in Croydon Council’s new home, Bernard Weatherill House, alongside other photographs.

Other photographers whose work features in the calendar are Michael Smith, Michael Duxbury, Alan White, Sean Donegan, Chris Packham, Romney Tansley, Lynda Morris, Maureen White and Will Armstrong.

Mr Farley said: “I am both very pleased and surprised to have won the Croydon Culture Click photography competition,” said Michael.

“Croydon is a diverse town with many different aspects and being a keen photographer I relished the challenge of depicting it in a single image.

“This particular picture had a lot of features that represented Croydon in it. There is the market, the older buildings, the newer buildings and I also waited for a tram to go past.

“I was very pleased with it and how it has turned out.”

Proceeds from the calendar will go towards The South East Cancer Help Centre, The British Heart Foundation and Croydon Commitment.

The calendar is available for £5 and can be purchased from the Croydon Visitor Centre, the Clocktower Café and the Tramlink Shop.
