A politician got dirty for charity.

Tom Brake the MP for Carshalton and Wallington gritted his teeth and gave it all he could as part of the aptly named Grim Challenge on Saturday, October 19.

He completed the short-course duathlon n Aldershot in aid of Cricket for Change (C4C), a Wallington-based charity which uses sport to change the lives of disadvantaged kids.

He said: “I have done this twice before, and it is a true duathlon from hell – killer hills and puddles the size and depth of lakes. This year, I came back for more grimness, this time to raise money for C4C.

“It took me just under two hours and a pair of very tired legs to complete the challenge, but it was definitely worth it.

“C4C does incredible work giving disadvantaged young people the opportunity to boost their confidence and make friends.  I am proud to be fundraising for them.”

Together with the charity, Tom also organised a comedy night, raising £220 for C4C in tickets sales.
