Lives were endangered by a fire that ripped through a communal area in a tower block in the early hours of Thursday.
Police believe the fire on the top floor of Chaucer House off Collingwood Road, which was so hot it caused windows to shatter, lights to melt and bins to be destroyed, could have been started deliberately and that it would have had "devastating effects" had it not been dealt with quickly.

The fire was started in the bin storage area on the ninth floor of the block of flats shortly after midnight on Thursday. Police want to speak to two teenage suspects who have been in the area.
Sergeant Kathy Morteo, of the Sutton North safer neighbourhood team, said: "This fire could have had devastating consequences for residents if it had not been put out so quickly.
"We are investigating this crime robustly and have received a lot of good information from the pubic.
"We are pursing a number of lines of enquiry to catch those responsible. With the public's help, it is only going to be a matter of time before we catch them.
"So please come forward with any information that can help us catch them before they start another fire and put lives in danger again."
The two suspects are 14- to 16-years-old. One is black, tall and slim, the other is white, shorter and fatter. The pair have been seen together in the area riding a single BMX bike.
