Hundreds attend funeral of Thornton Heath stab victim teen Fico Dougan
Family and friends today said their final farewell to Thornton Heath teenager Fico Dougan, who was stabbed to death in September.
Hundreds of mourners attended a funeral for the popular 17-year-old John Ruskin College student, who died after being attacked at a friend's house in Ockley Road, Broad Green, on September 25.
His coffin was emblazoned with the name 'Fico'.
Friends also marked the occasion by paying tribute to him online.
One wrote: "RIP Fico, today will show you that you'll never be forgotten."
Another said: "Fico's funeral today. May his soul rest in perfect peace. Stay strong everyone attending, he would most likely want you to."
In the days following Fico's death, his heartbroken family remembered a loving son and brother who had deliberately distanced himself from violence.
Friends posted a picture of Fico's coffin on Twitter
His dad Ernest said: "He was a loving, caring teenager. A very loving, caring son. He would do anything for his family.
"It just doesn't make sense. He always tried to stay out of trouble. He wasn't involved in gangs."
Earlier this month, three friends posted a rap video paying tribute to Fico on YouTube.
The video has since been viewed more than 22,000 times.
A 16-year-old boy from Mitcham has been charged with Fico's murder and will enter a plea at the Old Bailey in December.
