Live Premier League: West Brom v Crystal Palace
This live event has finished
- Crystal Palace travel to West Brom looking for their first away points of the season.
- Keith Millen takes his second game in charge.
Right that is it folks, make sure you check online for match report and manager reaction.
We will also have some player interviews going up on Monday.
Palace stay rooted to the bottom of the league. The Eagles face Everton at home next week. Another toughie but you never know, we might have a new manager in by then.
Steve Clarke is in: "Berahino was fantastic. We had a choice of putting on another defender or an attacker.
"He did a fantastic defensive job as well.
"We have to manage expectations around him now. It was a good win."
That was that from Keith. Disappointed with the result. He reckons the players need a new voice with fresh ideas to listen to. He doesn't know when a new manager will come in though.
KM: "I have no complaints with the team spirit. The players have to keep on going.
"Adlene looks like he has some kind of rib damage, so hopefully there is not too much damage.
"It is a tough time for everyone at the club. The chairman is not going to rush into an appointment but the sooner the better with new ideas and a fresh voice"
Keith Millen is in: "It is deja vu a little bit. We did a lot of good things. They punished us. To go 1-0 down at half time was disappointing.
"The players grew in belief second half. West Brom were happy to be 1-0 up and they countered. We had chances to equalise. Mile Jedinak's header was very close.
"They showed their quality with the corner, it was a good second goal for them.
"Fair play to our lads, they kept on going. We have to learn very quickly."
Just waiting for the managers. The chat in the press room is Palace have a lot of quantity but not much quality. Fair?
Palace were not woeful today, but they lacked cutting edge. They lakced a spark. West Brom had Berahino and Sessegnon who posed endless problems for Palace today.
It is a disappointing result as many of us were hoping at least a draw from this game.
Better from Palace in the closing stages. Chamakh heads back to Thomas from a long ball who shoots over.
And that is FULL TIME. 2-0 to West Brom. Seven losses in a row for Palace.
Stay tuned for the match report and manager reaction.
Jerome Thomas puts in a cross which seemed to confuse everyone including Myhill who had to back peddle to his goal and claw it away. Probably our best chance so far or certainly the most we have tested Myhill.
Another half chance for Palace. Bolasie puts in a ball to the back post, Chamakh heads it across goal and Delaney tries an overhead kick. Enough said. (it was on target though)
A shot for Palace. Bolasie drives into the box down the right hand side, shoots from a narrow angle which Myhill parries easily. About as close as it has got for Palace really.
Man of the match has been given to Berahino, deserved in my opinion. He has had a very good game.
Sub for West Brom. The impressive Sessegnon comes off, Matej Vydra comes on.
Palace have rarely threatened to be honest. But at least we are not losing 7-0 like Norwich are.
GOAL. And I think that is this game done and dusted. Corner for West Brom, Brunt crosses it in for Gareth McAuley who heads home.
Another chance for West Brom. Cross comes in and Brunt has to tap it into basically an empty net but he fires it wide. PHEW
Meanwhile I hope no one put a bet on my substitution guess. KG comes off, Gayle comes on. I am having a mare today with predictions.
Dwight Gayle is getting ready to come on. If I was a betting man I would say Chamakh is coming off. . hasn't had a great second half to be honest.
Sub for West Brom, Morrison off, Yacob on.
That is a FANTASTIC tackle by Moxey. Sessegnon dribbles through the Palace team, lays it off to Long who has time to shoot and out from nowhere comes Moxey to nick the ball away from him and into Speroni's hands.
It looks like he has hurt himself doing it though.
A kind of half chance there for Palace. A ball is played into the box, Chamakh brings it down, but it kind of bumbles off his back leg and away to safety. It would have been a full chance had he controlled it. . . .Palace fans still singing.
Sub for Palace. Bannan off, Bolasie on. 65 minutes gone.
Here are the Palace faithful. .
That has woken up the Palace fans who are now in full voice. As I said during the game against Manchester United, if only we got points for our vocal support. .
Another corner to Palace and I thought it was in. Thomas put in a great cross, Jedinak leaped the highest but his header went inches wide.
Saying that, Jason Puncheon squirms a shot away after a good lay off from XChamakh, Myhill tips it round the post though. Corner comes to nothing.
There is no shortage of effort from Palace but we are seriously lacking in confidence when it comes to breaking forward.
Dangerous free kick here for West Brom. it is cleared but a shot comes in which is cleared off the line by Gabbidon.
Free kick to Palace on the right hand side. Bannan crosses it, Jedinak gets a head to it but it is a weak header and Myhill collects easily. About ten minutes gone in the second half.
Palace are on the back foot once again. Berahino with a cross which is cleared by Joel Ward with Shaun Long running in.
West Brom now have a corner which is dealt with by Jedinak.
Right after a bloody lovely beef and ale pie, we are back underway here at West Brom. Let's see what Palace can do.
Another shot on target for West Brom from the very impressive Berahino, straight at Speroni though.
And that is half time. Palace need to up the tempo after the break. Need a point from this game really.
I hear Savage is saying some lovely things about Palace on TV. . . I think he should stick to the dancing.
We are now into six minutes of injury time.
I can only apologise for that one Palace fans. I should never have dreamt of saying Speroni had nothing to do.
GOAL FOR WEST BROM. Looks like I put the kiss of death on that one. Good work by Sessegnon down the left, crosses in for Berahino who slots home.
Around 43 minutes gone so far and to be honest there hasn't been much for Speroni to do so far and the home crowd are getting very eggy indeed.
It certainly has not been a hummdinger of a game so far. Good atmosphere though inside the Hawthorns.
As soon as I say that, Berahino puts in a dangerous cross which Gabbidon has to head wide. Corner comes to nothing though.
Injury to West Brom and they are forced into a change. Billy Jones is off and Saido Barahino, who is very highly rated, is on.
West Brom starting to look more dangerous. They have a corner kick after good work from Billy Jones down the right. Chamakh is on hand to head it clear though.
Sub for Palace: Adlene Guedioura is off, Jason Puncheon is on. About 23 minutes gone so far.
Break in play at the moment as Guedioura is injured. Does not look good for the ex-Forest midfielder. The stretcher is on. Puncheon is warming up.
Chamakh has a chance to run at the West Brom defenders but. . . he falls over. Shame that, could have been half a chance. He has started ok thopugh.
A fantastic turnout from the Eagle's faithful, sold out the away end.
Chance for Palace as Guedioura goes through on goal down the left hand side but it is a narrow angle and his shot is straight at boat Myhill.
You probably know the line up but just in case, Palace are unchanged from Arsenal.
Good afternoon. And welcome to today's game. Sorry for the delayed start, blame the M25 traffic.
Three minutes gone. West Brom have had a couple of corners and looking the more threatening.
