Four brainboxes have outsmarted competition from around the country to be crowned winners of a national maths competition.
The competition run by King's College London Mathematics School and Exeter Mathematics School, asked students to create a five minute video that explained the solution to one of five famous mathematical problems.
Year 11 pupils at Harris Academy South Norwood - Shannon Jackowski, Meghan Takwani, Ollie Springate and Katie Darnell-Smith - beat students at 38 different schools to be named winners.
Judges praised their video and said it stood at as it was clear the group had attacked the problem "in a very genuine way and their understanding of it came through very clearly."
The group were invited to the Department for Education offices last week where they were presented with a copy of "The Simpsons and Their Mathematical Secrets" signed by Education Secretary Michael Gove.
A spokesman for the academy said: "Our students have demonstrated a genuinely creative approach to problem solving. They approached the competition with determination and gusto.
"Their entry shows a cool, calm yet sophisticated approach to mathematical problem solving and we are very proud of their amazing achievement."
