A teenager was stabbed in the chest during a fight involving a large group of youths last night.

Two men, both 25, have been arrested on suspicion of assault by Surrey Police after the incident, in Hogsmill Way, Ewell, at about 7.30pm on Monday, November 11.

The victim, who is 15-years-old, has been taken to hospital for treatment to what are believed to be serious but not life threatening chest injuries.

Detective Sergeant Glenn Parker said: "This was no doubt a frightening experience, not only for the victim, but also to those who witnessed the events unfold and I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious and who has not yet spoken with police to share any information they have with us as it could be vital to the investigation.

"Although the victim has suffered serious injuries, it is believed at this stage in the investigation that these are not life threatening but this could have been a lot more serious and I would appeal to anyone who knows the identity of those responsible to contact officers as a matter of urgency.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting reference P13344339 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
