Two of the most famous ballets are being performed this month as part of a UK tour.

The Moscow City Ballet celebrates its Silver Anniversary with a tour in the UK including three performances at the Fairfield Halls.

There will be performances of Swan Lake and The Nutcracker which are dedicated to the memory and legacy of the late Victor Smirnov-Golovanov, the Moscow City Ballet’s founder and Artisitc Director.

Moscow City Ballet. made up of some of the world’s finest dancers will be accompanied on tour by the Moscow City Ballet Orchestra.

Founded in 1988 by Victor Smirnov-Golovanov, who died in April this year after a long struggle with cancer, Moscow City Ballet remains in the hands of his devoted wife Ludmila Neroubashchenko, who has been leading the ballet company for the last few years.

Ludmila Neroubashchenko says: "It’s been an incredibly sad time for Moscow City Ballet with the passing of Victor but we have found strength in the kind messages sent from people around the world.

"We are committed to continue entertaining audiences with our Russians jewels performed by world class dancers."
