Friends and colleagues of a hospital radio boss and BBC studio manager who died in a fall on Snowdonia last month are to broadcast a special tribute show to him today.
The show, which will be broadcast on Croydon Radio at 2pm will feature friends remembering 36-year-old David March's life before
Mr March, who fell up to 330ft (100m) in the Ogwen Valley in Wales on October 12, lived in Thornton Heath and had been chairman of Croydon University Hospital station Radio Mayday.
A recording of one of his folk music shows will also be aired after the tribute programme, which will also be broadcast on Radio Mayday and repeated on Croydon Radio on Saturday at 8pm.
Five members of the Croydon Radio team who were friends of Mr March are to record the show, which has the blessing of his family.
Trevor Smith, a presenter on both stations, led the production as a fitting way to pay tribute to a man who was passionate about radio and its role as a service to the community.
Croydon Radio founders Tim Longhurst and Tracey Rabbetts said the show was a small appreciation of a fellow broadcaster who loved the medium and wanted to make listeners' stay in hospital more comfortable.
