Five men have been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of a teenager in Ewell last night.
The 15-year-old was stabbed during a fight between a large number of youths, who are believed to know each other, in the Watersedge area of Ewell at 7.30pm.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to a number of stab wounds.
Two men were arrested during the early hours of this morning on suspicion of assault. They have now been re-arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Three other men have also been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the incident.
All five, who are in their teens and early 20s, are in police custody.
Detective Sergeant Judith Burton said: "Although five people have been arrested in connection with this incident we continue to appeal for anyone who has any information which may assist with the investigation to share this with us as a matter of urgency."
