A tabloid journalist has pleaded not guilty to charges in connection with the theft of Siobhain McDonagh's mobile phone.
Nick Parker, a 52-year-old Sun reporter from Twickenham, is accused of dishonestly receiving stolen goods, namely a mobile telephone belonging to the Labour MP for Mitcham and Morden, and of unauthorised access to computer material.
Ms McDonagh's phone was allegedly stolen from her car in Colliers Wood on October 17, 2010.
Mr Parker appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court today and spoke only to confirm his name and address.
A 29-year-old man has also appeared in court; he was charged with stealing a mobile phone.
Michael Ankers, of no fixed address, did not enter a plea when he appeared at the same court, charged with stealing a mobile phone of unknown value.
The next court date for each of the accused is November 22 at the Old Bailey and both were released on unconditional bail.
