A man arrested in connection with the death of a woman in New Addington has been bailed.

Paula Newman of Beckenham died of head injuries after being taken ill in Dunsfold Way on Tuesday morning.

Police believe the 20-year-old fell out of a black BMW 325 on Monday night between 8.45pm and 11.30pm and are treating her death as suspicious.

Paramedics had been called to Dunsfold Way to reports of a woman in cardiac arrest. They took Miss Newman to Croydon University Hospital, where she died.

A 33-year-old man was arrested at the scene, but has been bailed until a date in mid January 2014, pending further enquiries.

The death is being investigated by the Homicide and Major Crime Command.
