It was arts and crafts and face painting galore at Grovelands School as Elmbridge Council took over for a special event.

People young and old came together for the Let’s Talk Elmbridge event held at the Walton school on Tuesday, November 19.

While parents spoke to council officers, Surrey Police, DC Leisure and Surrey Fire and Rescue and gave their views on services, youngsters enjoyed an afternoon of biscuit decorating, T-shirt designing and fun and games.

For budding police officers, Surrey Police allowed visitors to jump into their car to see all the working and firefighters let youngster clamber into their fire engine and explore.

John O'Reilly, leader of Elmbridge Council, said: “It was great to see so many residents and their children turn out for the let’s talk Elmbridge event at Grovelands School.

“The children thoroughly enjoyed the available activities, with many using their creative energies to design T-shirts and decorate biscuits and the police car and fire engine were also popular attractions.

“Feedback is extremely important to us and we are always happy to hear from our residents, these events are part of a programme to enable our residents voices are heard.”
