Volunteers are wanted to come and get down and dirty in a park.
Sutton Council's biodiversity team has organised a day of work to improve wildlife habitats in North Cheam's Fairlands Park.
The team needs help to plant saplings and shrubs along the park's north border to create a wildlife corridor for birds, small mammals and other wildlife.
Volunteers can come along between 10.30am and 2pm on Sunday to help out. Tools will be provided but people will need to wear suitable clothing and bring wellington boots.
In exchange for their efforts, volunteers will be given a free flat-packed bat and bird box to use in their own gardens.
Councillor Jill Whitehead, who is in charge of Sutton’s parks and green spaces, said: "Sutton already has a reputation for being one of London’s greenest boroughs.
"This kind of work is crucial if we are to continue to attract wildlife to our parks.
"I’d encourage families to consider volunteering for this event as it’s a great way for children to learn more about the outdoors."
Volunteers just need to turn up at Fairlands Park off London Road on Sunday.
