A man who stole a bag of meat, hair wax and an electrical shaver has been sent to prison for four months.
Nathan Young, 28, of Acacia Avenue, Shepperton,. stole the items from retailers in Walton and Shepperton on two separate dates.
Young stole a bag of meat products from the Co-Op in Shepperton on October 28 and then targeted Boots in High Street, Walton, on November 11, and stole some hair wax and an electrical shaver.
Young was given a 16-week prison sentence at North Surrey Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, November 13.
Detective Constable Jamie Spooner, investigating officer, said: “Young is a known prolific offender and this prison sentence sends out a clear warning message that crimes of this nature, that impact on our local communities will not be tolerated. Young brazenly tried to walk out of both premises with unpaid goods.
“The fact that Young has been sentenced to 16 weeks imprisonment demonstrates our commitment to the relentless pursuit of offenders and keeping our local communities safe.”
