A Croydon teenager is to appear in court today after a man was stabbed in a busy high street on Wednesday.
The 16-year-old, from Thornton Heath, has been charged with wounding with intent, possession of a pointed article in public and possession of a class B drug with intent to supply, after the incident which happened at 3.45pm outside the Santander bank in Epsom high street.
The 24-year-old victim, from Epsom, was stabbed in the chest and thighs and taken to St George’s Hospital, in Tooting. The injuries were serious but not life-threatening.
The 16-year-old will appear at South East Surrey Magistrates Court today.
Another 16-year-old who was arrested in connection with this incident has been released on police bail while the investigation continues.
