Over 100 inspirational young people from across Croydon received awards in recognition of always doing their best .
The Jack Petchey Foundation Achievement awards honoured 135 young people from 22 schools across the borough in a ceremony at the Ashcroft Theatre.
All of the winners received medallions alongside framed certificates and £200 prize money.
Amongst the winners was 15-year-old Aisling Towl from the Brit School, who was nominated for highlighting Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender issues in a school assembly.
Another winner was Xander Taylor from Oasis Academy Cousldon, who was given the award in recognition of his involvement with all academy community occasions.
Mayor of Croydon Yvette Hopley, who attended the event, said: "Croydon is the largest London borough with the largest group of young talented people. That was proved tonight at the awards ceremony."
She added: "Superb achievements and outstanding entertainment made me so proud to be your Mayor."
Entertainment at the event was provided by Thomas More Catholic School steel band and choir and musicians from Coningsby Centre, Kingsdown Secondary School and Woodcote High School.
