A book has been published in memory of a Princess Alice Hospice patient, with profits going to support hospice users.

The anthology of short stories, titled In a word: Murder an anthology, was published in memory of Maxine Clarke who lost a long battle against cancer at the hospice in 2012.

The book has been put together by Margot Kinberg, who was a close friend of Ms Clarke’s.

She said: “As a way of remembering Maxine, and of supporting the brilliant work Princess Alice Hospice does, several of us in the crime fiction community pooled our stories into this short anthology.

“Since Maxine was an editor as well as a crime fiction expert, we felt this would be a fitting way to remember her and to try to do some good in her memory.”

Ms Clarke’s daughter, Catherine, said the book was the perfect way to help remember her mother.

Copies of the e-book can be downloaded from Amazon and the printed version will be available in February 2014.
