Students at Trinity school are preparing to slick back their hair and grab their leather jackets for a school production of Grease.

The much-loved musical, which begins today, is being performed on stage in the concert hall of the Shirley Park school.

The full-length production involves a cast of forty students from Years 10 to 13, who will be accompanied on stage by a group of seven musicians.

A further 11 pupils will act as technical crew for the show, which runs for three nights.

Head of Production Andrew Godfrey said: "All the students have worked incredibly hard getting ready for the production.

"We have a real car on stage and well over one hundred costumes, so it is a very demanding show.

"The pupils have been fantastic. We are looking forward to the first night and are sure it will be a great success."

Freddie Benedict who plays the part of Danny, said: "Taking part in such an iconic musical as Grease has been such a fantastic experience as well as a huge amount of fun."

Rachel Hammond who is playing Sandy, added: "The chance to work on a musical of this scale has been amazing as well as the opportunity to work with a professional choreographer and band."
