Dance students at The Brit School have joined forces with The Royal Ballet School in a special educational collaboration.

As part of The Royal Ballet School's aDvANCE initiative, 25 students from The Brit School visited the school in Covent Garden in November, with Royal Ballet school students in turn visiting the Selhurst school earlier this week.

The project, which aims to enable the students from both schools to share skills and learn from the differences in their respective dance training, will see the groups work weekly together at both schools.

Students will create a new collaborative performance piece that will be presented in The Royal Ballet School's Linden Studio Theatre on February 6 and 7.

Andrea Davis, Director of Dance at The Brit school said: "‘This unique and brilliant scheme is an excellent opportunity for students from The BRIT School and The Royal Ballet to exchange and develop creative skills.

"The creative process will be enriched by the collaborate nature of the project, we are very excited to be part of this year’s aDvANCE partnership."

Ginny Brown, Manager of The Royal Ballet School's Dance Partnership and Access Programme, said: "This collaboration is designed to engender meaningful and creative dialogue between students from different dance disciplines and I am sure the experience will prove inspirational for all the young people involved."
