Two footballers have been charged as part of an investigation into match fixing.
Michael Boateng and Hakeem Adelakun, both 22, from Croydon, were charged with conspiracy to defraud.
Adelakun is a former Crystal Palace youth team player and was a first team regular for Carshalton Athletic last season.
Boateng is a former Sutton United player who played 29 times for the Us. He is also a former Crystal Palace youth team player and played for Carshalton Athletic.
The men have been bailed to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on December 11.
They both play for Whitehawk FC, a non-league team based in Brighton.
They are the third and fourth people to be charged in connection with the National Crime Agency’s investigation into an alleged international illegal betting syndicate.
Chann Sankaran and Krishna Sanjey Ganeshan were charged on November 28 and are currently remanded in custody.
The NCA’s investigation continues.
