Ernest Bevan College pupil Sebastian Adler had some wise words of advice for wannabe sports stars after helping the U16s boys’ team win the table tennis Jack Petchey Foundation (JPF) competition.
With his team-mates Bejay Arjan, Ovi Eyarhono and Joseph Noah, the quartet was triumphant in the London central regional final.
There was more good news for the college when the U13s boys team of Anthony Jumpp, Cory Shillingford, Shay Simms and Zion Boumpouton also won their regional final.
The competition bought together 100 students making up 25 teams from 12 different schools from Camden, Chelsea, Islington, Kensington, Lambeth, Southwark, and Westminster.
Adler said: “I enjoy table tennis, but if you want to be good you have to work hard.”
Jack Petchey, CBE, aged 88 and founder of JPF, said: “I’ve been a fan of table tennis since my own youth.
“It’s a fantastic sport for young people to play.”
Winners: Bejay Arjan, Ovi Eyarhono, Joseph Noah and Sebastian Adler
