An elderly couple came face-to-face with two burglars who broke into their home while they were in bed.

The couple, who live in Molesey Road, Walton, heard a noise between 10.45pm and 11pm on Wednesday, November 20, and got up to investigate.

One burglar was a white man in his 30s, about 5ft 8in to 5ft 9in, and stocky.

The second burglar was a white man in his 20s, about 5ft 7in, slim and with short dark brown hair.

Both men, who have local accents, are believed to have been wearing dark coloured clothing, with one burglar wearing a dark cap. It is not know what direction the burglars went in after leaving the home.

Detective Constable Anne Simpson from North Surrey CID said: “Coming face to face with two intruders in their home was understandably a very frightening ordeal for the elderly couple.
