A man was robbed at knifepoint by a gang of muggers who stole his diamond wedding ring.

The incident occurred in Epsom at 7.20pm on Tuesday, December 10, when a man in his 20s was walking along a path between Longmead Road and Chessington Road.

He was approached by two men who threatened him with a knife before stealing his gold double buckle diamond wedding ring, two other gold rings, and cash.

The muggers then left along Chessington Road away from Ewell West station.

One mugger was 6ft 2ins and dressed in all black.  The other was 5ft 11ins and was wearing a red-hooded top.

Detective Constable Catherine Jenkin from Surrey Police said: "I believe there will have been a number of people in the area around the time this offence occurred and I would urge anyone who saw someone matching the description of the offenders or anything else suspicious in the area to contact officers with information.

"This was a frightening ordeal for the victim and no doubt one which will stay with him for some time, therefore we are doing all we can to find those responsible and to bring them to justice."
