A woman has appealed for help finding her husband who has been missing for more than two months.

Richard Emmerson was last seen leaving his home in Lynwood Gardens, Waddon, on October 4.

The 49-year-old told his wife Teresa he was going out, but never returned home and has not been heard from since.

Mrs Emmerson said her husband is vulnerable after suffering a head injury in a car crash in which his colleague died in 2005.

She said: "He went missing in May and that was for 21 days, I found him in the street in Wimbledon.

"Richard has mental health problems after suffering a brain injury in a car accident. He has poor concentration and is suffering from memory loss."

Mrs Emmerson says there have been various sightings of her husband around south London including Sutton, Wimbledon, Morden and Crystal Palace.

She believes he is spending his time travelling on buses during the day and sleeping on them at night and may sometimes go to McDonalds for a free coffee.

Mrs Emmerson said: "He told me from the last time he went missing that was what he was doing.

"I have been out looking for him myself for six to eight hours a day, but I don't drive so by the time I get to where he has been seen he has gone.

"I had a sighting of him myself recently, I was on a bus in Carshalton and I saw him on the 157 bus travelling towards Morden that was going the other way. I got off at the next stop but couldn't catch the bus he was on.

"I know if he sees me he will come home, he is out there and confused."

The father-of-two is described as 6ft 2ins, very slim with dark brown hair that has grey strands in it and brown eyes.

He may have grey stubble and when he was last seen he was wearing a grey coat with fur around the hood and blue jeans.

A police spokesman confirmed Mr Emmerson was reported missing on October 4.

He added: "Officers spoke with him in Mitcham on October 28 and he was reported missing again on November 13."
