Councillor Margaret Mead, cabinet member for adult services and health, said: “Not only will people get a hot meal on Christmas Day, they will also receive some Christmas cheer, as the meals on wheels drivers may be the only contact they have during the festive period.

“More than just handing over a hot meal, this is a vital service and one that enables people to remain in their own homes for as long as possible.

“I’m sure Croydon residents will join me in thanking Apetito’s team for the invaluable work they do, especially at this time of year.”
