Epsom’s MP was in town on Friday to help wrap shoppers’ Christmas gifts to raise cash for our Shine On appeal.
Chris Grayling joined users, staff and volunteers of The Sunnybank Trust, in The Ashley Centre, as part of the charity’s festive push to raise money.
The Epsom Guardian launched the Shine On appeal in May to help it raise £75,000 by April so it can keep on running its weekly social club, Kites; a friendship scheme and independent advocacy service for those with learning disabilities.
The Christmas gift wrapping at the shopping has been rasing about £85 a day and Barclays Bank has promised to match-fund the total.
On Wednesday the Rotary Club collected for the charity in Stoneleigh tonight and Epsom Choral Society raised money for it at a performance on Saturday.
