A 17-year-old girl is critically ill in hospital after being hit by a car in Selsdon.

Police arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving following the crash in Selsdon Park Road, near the junction with Tedder Road, at around 8.55pm on January 1.

The driver, who stopped at the scene, has since been bailed to return to a south London police station in early March while police investigate the crash.

The teenager this morning remained in a critical condition in hospital.

Detectives asked anyone with information to call 101.
