These pictures show the flooding in a Croydon park after this morning’s downpours and more heavy rain is on its way.

Part of the Ashburton Park, Woodside, is waterlogged with the trees looking like they are in the middle of a lake, rather than a grassy area.

Several flood warnings are still in operation across the Croydon area.

Environment Agency says there is currently a flood alert for the Ravensbourne catchment, in the boroughs of Croydon, Lewisham, Bromley and Greenwich.

Flooding of low lying land and roads is likely but property flooding is not currently expected.

And there is a flood alert with the risk of groundwater flooding in the Caterham Bourne Catchment area, including Caterham, Whyteleafe, Kenley, Purley, South Croydon, Beddington and Carshalton.
