Police arrested a man on suspicion of impersonating solicitor at Croydon Crown Court this morning.
The man is alleged to have been posing as a barrister to get access to a defendant in custody at the court at around 11am.
The arrested man is now being held at a south London police station.
The Solicitors Act 1974 makes it illegal for an unqualified person to act as or pretend to be a solicitor.
Anyone convicted of the offence can be fined up to £2,500.
