Police have released pictures of a man sought in connection with a mobile phone theft on a train from West Croydon.
The thief snatched the phone, a black iPhone 4S worth up to £450, from the hands of a 25-year-old man on an Overground service to Dalston Junction.
He then ran off the train as the doors were closing at Honor Oak Park station.
The theft happened on Friday, November 15 at around 4.10pm.
Det Cons Mark Agrippa, of British Transport Police said, explained: "The passenger was on his phone on the train when a man approached and snatched it from his hand.
"He then left the train at Honor Oak Park as the doors were closing and the victim was not able to follow him."
He added: "In the time since the offence took place, numerous enquiries have taken place to identify the person responsible, including liaising with local police and viewing CCTV from the station.
"I’m now appealing for the public's help to identify the man in these images as I believe he will have information vital to this investigation.
"I would also like to ask any witnesses who saw what took place to come forward as a matter of urgency."
