Pedal power is being used to promote free cycle training courses which are being run by the council.
Promotional bikes are riding through the borough this week and the riders will be dispensing leaflets outlining what is on offer.
The campaign follows the Cycle Aware initiative which ran last November when it was found 47 per cent of cyclists wanted additional training and were not aware it was available.
Croydon road safety unit’s senior road safety officer Sue Martin said: “Cycling has become increasingly popular over recent years.
“Unfortunately, though, there is still a gap in basic road safety awareness and too many people are injured or killed whilst cycling.
“We are keen to raise awareness of our free cycle training programme among our local cycling community and hopefully help keep cyclists safer on Croydon’s roads”
