A teenager’s dog was shot dead by police yesterday after officers raided a house looking for a burglary suspect.
Cops burst into the home in Windham Avenue, New Addington, and arrested a 17-year-old boy in connection with aggravated burglary and robbery offences.
During the raid a Croydon police spokesman sayid there was a dog at the address which was ‘acting aggressively towards officers’.
He added: “A specialist police dog unit attended, but were unable to safely restrain the dog.
“Armed officers were subsequently called and the dog was shot and killed.”
The dog was called Blaze and belonged to 17-year-old Shannon-Marie Henery.
The burglary and robbery suspect remains in custody at a south London police station.
