Fundraisers in Croydon are being asked to join celebrities including Gary Lineker and Jack Whitehall by getting involved with Sport Relief.

You can do your bit by sprinting, jogging or walking around the Croydon Sport Arena from 1pm on Sunday, March 23.

Organised by the council’s arena manager, Scott Hart, the main race starts at 3pm with people able to choose between courses of either one, three or six miles. The event will also feature bouncy castles, face-painting, tombola and side stalls.

Those wanting to take part can register at sportrelief.com. Sponsorship money raised will help transform the lives of people living both here in the UK and also in some of the world’s poorest countries.

Mr Hart said: "This is the second time the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile has come to Croydon so we’re encouraging everyone to don the headband, get training and show the rest of the country what we can do. There will be plenty of activities on the day so don’t forget to rope in your mates, family, boyfriend, girlfriend, and work colleagues – and don’t forget Fancy Dress!!"

Members of the public will be joining a host of celebrities including Gary Lineker, Gaby Logan, Claudia Winkleman, Jack Whitehall, Clare Balding who will be helping to raise millions of pounds for good causes on Friday, March 21, as the BBC screens their annual night of Sport Relief TV.
