More than 250 students have joined the likes of comedian Noel Fielding, punk impresario Malcolm McLaren and designer John Rocha after graduating from University Centre Croydon.

The students were joined by more than 1,000 friends and family at Fairfield Halls on Friday, as they walked away with qualifications ranging from graphic design to Law.

University Centre Croydon is part of Croydon College. Three years ago, it entered a strategic partnership with the University of Sussex, which awards the majority of the college's degree level courses.

During her welcome speech, Croydon College principal and chief executive Frances Wadsworth said: “This ceremony is one of the key highlights of the college year, providing an opportunity to recognise our students' success.

"This day provides everyone who is associated with the achievements of our learners a chance to reflect on what we do, and serves to remind us of why we do it.

"There really is no greater reward than being with them as we mark and celebrate their accomplishments.”
