  • Arsenal v Crystal Palace. 2-0 to the Gunners.
  • Kick off is at 4pm
  • Palace's last away win in the Premier League was against Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
  • Chamakh starts against his old club.

That is about it for now then. A disappointing result but nothing to be too disheartened about.

Cheers for the following the blog and see you next time. COME ON YOU PALACE.

Tim Ashton is writing up the pre match quotes as we speak so keep an eye out on the website for them.

Palace are now fourth bottom of the league but have a big opportunity next week against West Brom at home, who drew 1-1 with Liverpool today.

We will have some player quotes up on the website as well during the week so make sure to check for the latest Palace news.

Pulis was obviously a little disappointed then after that, reckons it is not as good as the other away games we have played in.

Sounds like the new signings could well start next week as well.

Right here is Tony Pulis. Didn't think the wide players played as well today. Said we didn't take our big moment today with that Jerome chance.

Says "we have got to find goals. Glenn Murray is not far away, Ince has come in and Ledley has goals in him as well.

"Supporters were wonderful again today. The unity between fans and players is great.

"Hopefully Ince can keep us in the Premier League and we can persuade him to stay longer at the club."

Wenger is in, says it was a difficult game for Arsenal. Said Palace were a very united team, organised and it was hard to create space.

Right a bit of a technical hitch. I am back with you now. So the game ended 2-0, I am now waiting for the managers to come down.

Overall Palace fans cannot be too down about that. The team huffed and puffed but ultimately Arsenal were the better team.

I reckon Ince, Ledley and Dann will all start next week against West Brom, which is another massive homes game for the Eagles.

Three minutes of added time.

Match report and reaction from the managers to come after the final whistle.

Not long to go now, under a minute left of normal time.

Jedinak has a crack at goal from about 25 yards but it flies past the post. A goal would be lovely I have to admit.

Palace have put a lot of effort in today. Arsenal have not had loads of chances but have certainly been more clinical. Tony Pulis' men can be happy with the effort they have put in.

Subs for Arsenal, Ozil and Giroud off, Gibbs and Bendtner on.

About eight minutes left. Chamakh off and Gayle on.

Ozil takes a shot which is deflected but Speroni gathers comfortably. Gayle is coming on now it seems. . .

A few people saying Joel Ward is having his worse game for us. He has been a rock this season but has struggled at times today against the pace of Chamberlain.

GOAL. 2-0 to Arsenal. Oxlade Chamberlain does it again. Runs through on goal and smashes it past Speroni, who got a hand to it. All over?

Sub for Arsenal as Rosicky comes on for Podolski. About 19 minutes left.

Another half chance for Palace. Puncheon crosses in and the ball falls to Bannan on the edge of the box who fires way over.

Yellow card for Delaney after a challenge on Cazorla. To be honest I thought he got the ball.

Palace fans still singing loudly off the pitch and Palace are not giving up on it. A few crosses in the box but no one on the end of them.

Jerome is off. Bannan is on. We are still shaking our heads here in the press box over that Jerome miss. You do not get many of those at the Emirates.

Anyway that substitution means Chamakh is now up front on his own.

Podolski with a chance at the other end but he fires wide. Looks like Bannan is coming on for Palace.

MASSIVE chance for Palace. Cross in from the left and Bolasie heads it towards goal, it falls to Jerome at point blank range but he heasds it straight at Szczesny. Such a chance. Wasted.

GOAL. Arsenal score just after half time. Not ideal for Palace at all. Oxlade Chamberlain lobs Speroni after a lovely ball by Cazorla. 1-0 to Arsenal.

Right not long until the start of the second half. The teams are out. Come on Palace!! And we are OFF

Half time then. 0-0. Palace defending well but a long second half ahead. See you after the break folks.

Two minutes of injury time and Arsenal have a corner. . . but it comes to nothing. Koscielny tries his luck from about 40 yards but it goes way way wide.

Yellow card for Chamakh against his old club.

The Palace fans are so so loud. Brilliant stuff. About five minutes left of the first half. Without jinxing it the Eagles have been pretty solid but we have not looked like scoring.

WHAT. A. SAVE. Speroni pulls of a fingertip save after Koscielny headed towards goal from a free kick. Brilliant.

We have played just over 30 minutes and so far just the one clear cut chance for Arsenal.

Bolasie relieving the pressure well with a few good runs down the left. Important he does that as Palace are playing very much on the counter attack.

Just been told the ref today is the same one that reffed our away game against Man Utd. . . you know the one that gave a dodgy penalty and sent off KG. . . I am over it though. Honest.

Even the official Arsenal press people reckon our fans are louder. . GEDDON!!!

I have just seen someone tweet that if Palace win they will get their hair done like Gerry Francis. . . . that would be brilliant.

Anyway Arsenal have got in a couple of threatening positions but Palace are defending well.. . . so far.

Chamakh causing problems for his former side. Spins his marker but his through ball to Puncheon is over hit.

So far Arsenal have had 78.5% possession. . . hopefully Palace will see the ball soon.

Our friends at the Five Year Plan fanzine have been causing mischief. They have mocked up a picture of yours truly. . . this is down to my sweet eating habits. .

Half chance for Palace as Chamakh runs through on goal but his touch just takes it away from him and Szczesny gathers the ball from his feet.

Free kick for Arsenal in a dangerous position. . .about 30 yards from goal but Cazorla kicks it over. Yay.

Shows what happens if you let Arsenal pass it around though. Their fans might be quiet but the team is dangerous.

Great save by Speroni. Monreal is put through into the penalty area but Palace's keeper saves with his legs. Let off for Palace but having seen the replay it may have been going wide anway.

Palace are already very deep in their own half. Cazorla and Ozil already seeing a lot of the ball.

Unsurprisingly the Palace fans are in great voice. . . and the Arsenal fans as quiet as a doormouse. I am not kidding either.

And we are off. Palace kicking from right to left. Come on you EAGLES lets do this.

Away from the pitch, I thought Palace did some fantastic deadline day business. Tom Ince, Ledley and Dann all very good buys.

Anyway here come the teams!!

We are just under ten minutes until kick off at the Emirates. Tweet your thoughts to @Andy_Bloss and @zachmerton throughout the game.

Our photograher Staph is already hard at work, here is Palace defender Delaney warming up

Croydon Guardian:

Here is a real picture of the Emirates. . .it is a lovely stadium and the Palace are in great voice in the far right corner

Croydon Guardian:

For those that have not been to the Emirates, here it is. . . we all know how loud this place is (just kidding it is quiet. . . like a library)

Croydon Guardian:

The Croydon Guardian's Tim Ashton has also written up some quotes from David Kemp from his pre match press conference.

There is an absolute SHED load of stuff on our website for you to look through before kick off.

First up, if you like your numbers then we have a gander of our stat attack for today's game.

In terms of Arsenal, I heard that Ozil can put a good shift in and Giroud is alright. . . . nothing to worry about then.

Soooooooo, that means Ward is back to right back as KG returns to midfield. Chamakh plays against his former club too.

Palace XI: Speroni, Ward, Gabbidon, Delaney, Parr, Bolasie, Dikgacoi, Jedinak, Puncheon, Chamakh, Jerome.

Palace subs: Hennessey, Mariappa, McCarthy, Bannan, Guedioura, Gayle, Wilbraham.

Arsenal team to play Palace: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Arteta, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cazorla, Ozil, Podolski, Giroud

Arsenal subs: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Gibbs, Rosicky, Zelalem, Gnabry, Bendtner

Afternoon folks and welcome to the Croydon Guardian's live blog for Arsenal against Crystal Palace.

I have just had what can only be described as a lovely roast pork lunch which has whet the appetite for the game ahead.

Anyway, the teamsheets are in. . .
