A man has been found dead following a house fire in Croydon this morning.
Firefighters were called to a blaze in Addiscombe Court Road at 11.35am, where they found the body of a man in a rear bedroom on the ground floor of a terraced house.
Firefighters had the fire under control by 11.56am. Two fire engines and 14 firefighters and officers from Woodside and Addington fire stations attended the blaze.
London Fire Brigade has made the Metropolitan Police aware of the death.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A post mortem examination to establish the man's casue of death will take place in due course.
