Godstone Road has been closed to all non-emergency services vehicles as the battle to stop the flood water reaching homes in Kenley and Purley intensifies.

The street is shut both ways between the junction of Downs Court Road, Purley, and Croydon Road, Whyteleafe, because of localised flooding.

And side roads in the area are now also closed off.

Bus route 407 has been diverted via Downs Court Road, Mitchley Avenue, Mitchley Hill, Limpsfield Road, Tithepit Shaw Lane, Hillbury Road in both directions
