This week’s weather is not forecast to be as stormy as it was last week but flooding misery is set to continue in the south of the borough.
Road closures
Motorists are advised to avoid Kenley and Whyteleafe due to localised flooding as side roads surrounding Godstone Road remain closed.
These roads are likely to be closed to non-residents and people who can prove they live there may have restricted access depending on works carried out by the emergency and utility services.
Diversions
For displaced traffic to Foxley Hill Road the diversion is via Brighton Road / Old Lodge Lane / Bencombe Road / Higher Drive / Foxley Hill Road.
For displaced traffic for the A22 into Whyteleafe the diversions are:
For high sided vehicles (over 15ft 3in) north up Brighton Road / South End / Coombe Road / Coombe Lane / Gravel Hill / Selsdon Park Road / Addington Road / Limpsfield Road / Tithepit Shaw Lane/ Hillbury Road / A22
For all other vehicles (under 15ft 3in) north up Brighton Road / right into Brighton Road by civic amenity site / Riddlesdown Road / Purley Downs Road / Sanderstead Hill / Limpsfield Road / Tithepit Shaw Lane / Hillbury Road /A22.
Buses
Route 412: Buses start and terminate at Purley Station and are unable to serve bus stops on Brighton Road, Purley Road and Godstone Road.
Route 407: Buses are diverted via Brighton Road, Purley Downs Road, Sanderstead Hill, Limpsfield Road, Tithepit Shaw Lane, Hilbury Road and are unable to serve bus stops on Godstone Road between Purley Cross and Whyteleafe Roundabout.
Route 434: Buses are diverted via Brighton Road, Old Lodge Lane, Burcott Road, Higher Drive, Northwood Avenue and are unable to serve bus stops on Purley Road, Foxley Hill Road and Higher Drive.
Parking

The pavement parking ban along Valley Road, Oaks Road, Northwood Avenue, Beverley Road and St. James's Road on the other side of Godstone Road has also been suspended.
People are asked to park their cars with two wheels on the pavement to improve access for residents’ traffic.
The Godstone Road itself is the responsibility of Transport for London rather than the council.
Tesco at Purley Cross is helping people in Kenley by offering free parking if they have been affected by the floods.
Croydon police is issuing permits.
Waste and recycling collections
Croydon Council workers are doing their best to collect recycling and rubbish as usual in the areas affected by the flooding.
People are advised to put their recycling and rubbish out if it is safe to do so on normal collection days.
Collections for rubbish will start at 6am and recycling will start at 6.30am.
Waste and recycling centres
The Purley Oaks Household Reuse & Recycling Centre remains closed while the pumping of water from the balancing pond at Purley Oaks Depot continues.
Alternate reuse and recycling centres at Factory Lane and Fishers Farm are available during normal opening hours for people to take their unwanted household items and recycling materials.
