Yarn bombing guerrillas have attacked Croydon town centre to raise awareness of an anti-incinerator campaign.
The Stop the Incinerator group have warmed up the metal lifesize portraits of Dame Peggy Ashcroft, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and Ronnie Corbett on the bench in Charles Street by dressing them with scarves and hats.

And on the bench is a notice asking people to visit the campaign’s website to sign a petition against the incinerator.
The plant is planned to be built in Beddington and was given planning permission by Sutton Council last year but campaigner Shasha Khan has launched a bid to get that planning consent overturned through a judicial review.

One of the supporters of the no campaign is Jonathan 'JB' Gill from boyband JLS.
Mr Gill, who grew up in Croydon and now owns a farm in Scotland, said: "Air pollution is a known killer.
"How can they justify building something that will increase air pollution when everyone agrees we need to reduce it?”
The portrait bench, featuring three of Croydon's most famous figures as chosen by the public, was unveiled last summer.
