Three men are in hospital after a crash in Purley Way this morning which closed part of the road.

Witnesses report seeing paramedics pulling two men out of vans after a head on collision and a man in another vehicle was also injured.

Emergency services were called to the scene at about 4.45am and firefighters helped ambulance crews by spreading the doors of the vehicles open.

One man, in his 20s, was taken to St George’s Hospital, Tooting, suffering from neck, back and shoulder pain.

One man, in his 30s, was taken to the same hospital suffering from a leg injury.

A third man, who is in his 40s, was also taken to St George’s, but the nature of his injuries is not known.

The road was cordoned off between Imperial Way/ Waddon Way and Edgehill Road while emergency services dealt with the incident.

It has since been reopened.
